Why free?
AI lowers the cost of building and improving tools. We pass that efficiency on: Bellfly and Packtell stay free as complete local apps.
Why open source?
The tools you rely on should be understandable. Open source lets you inspect how the local software works and makes your choices less dependent on one provider.
Why no account?
Local work runs on your own device. You do not need an OrbiFabric account to use Bellfly or Packtell locally. Bellfly uses the AI subscriptions you choose.
Cloud pays for ongoing service.
Running an online service creates ongoing operating costs. Cloud can charge for that work. Choose it only when you need online coordination across devices; payment does not unlock local Bellfly or Packtell functionality.
Come and go freely.
We aim to keep the cost of leaving OrbiFabric as low as we can. Your actual files stay on your devices or in storage you choose. Local tools need no OrbiFabric account, and you can choose each product independently.
